Two things recently that happened I forgot to mention and they have me puzzled.
On August 3rd Lily was sitting on her brother CJ's lap when she decided to throw herself backwards as only a 3 yr old can (lol!) and she and CJ cracked heads. I thought poor CJ's cheek bone was broke. He was ok but they hit so hard Lily ended up with a concussion. You would think that would trigger a seizure...
Also last weekend we were at Hershey Amusement Park. Lily was around some flashing lights. After talking to the DR when she was in the hospital she told me (she being the DR) that flashing lights can cause seizures. She was going to pull up Lily's EEG to see how she reacted to the strobe during it. But I told her not to bother cuz I already knew how she reacted.
I just don't understand why these two event didn't trigger a seizure.....but then a few days later (after Hershey) she has one. I asked if it was possible for it to be delayed from the lights and she said no. The lights trigger them right away. So confused!
Dont give up. If you think there may be more to it and your noticing things that dont add up dont let them go keep bringing them up until you get an answer. Though there are good doctors out there they dont all know everything. Good Luck you are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever had her lead levels checked? Lily could be seizing if she has been exposed to high levels of lead. Did you paint around this time ?It is worth a try to have her levels checked it could be your answer especially if you live in older home. Also, my daughter is now 21 she started seizing at 10 she was on depakote for gran-mal and petit-mal seizures she vomited and lost control of her bladder with the gran-mal her petit-mal she just zoned out. I took her to akron childrens one of their Dr's. in the group said she was a true epileptic according to the MRI's and EEG's but there is no history on my or her fathers side. I read a pamphlet on seizures and lead paint I asked her Dr. at childrens if this could have started her seizures he said probably not. I looked for another Dr. and found Dr. in canton he said yes it was possible and I moved out of the house I was in. I ran into the guy who our landlord had paint the inside of the house I asked him if any of that paint in the house was lead paint and he said yes. We shouldn't of been living in this house and I should have sued the landlord for all she had went through. My daughter was 13-14 when we moved she had not had any seizures since then.I was still giving her medicine in high school she stopped taking it around 15 on her own kept the medicine bottles in her drawers still no seizures. She had a baby last year and didn't have any complications. If she was a true epileptic I feel she would need medicine. Hope this helps you. I will be praying for you and your family that you find out what is wrong.God Bless.Michelle
